Job summary

First Solar, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to provide technical leadership and develop robust, manufacturable processes for solar module production. You will troubleshoot on the line, lead continuous improvement, and work with development teams to implement new equipment and processes.

The role requires strong problem-solving, DOE/SPC expertise, and experience with FMEAs, metrology, and training of staff. Domestic and international travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience applying robust engineering and structured problem solving.
• Strong ability to implement DOE and SPC for process control.
• Proficient in creating and maintaining FMEAs and process training.
• Excellent oral and written communications in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document robust solar module manufacturing processes.
• Lead continuous improvement projects and problem-solving efforts.
• Manage and sustain process areas with minimal supervision.
• Design experiments, collect data, and report results.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide project oversight.
• Interface with internal teams and suppliers to complete projects.
• Maintain safety standards and housekeeping on the production floor.
