The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced manufacturing facility.They will be responsible for overseeing production targets by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, and resolving production issues in order to ensure an efficient workflow and timely production of finished goods. It will require interacting with various operational support areas to ensure that quality products are being manufactured in an efficient manner and that employees comply with all company policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

Maintain the safety of all employees by ensuring all safety standards and policies are enforced daily.
Daily supervision of assigned personnel to produce manufactured products that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Maintains workflow by monitoring and upgrading production process, establishing priorities, and resolving problems.
Ensure all quality specifications and customer expectations are met or exceeded.
Ensure all equipment and machinery are always in usable condition and are in proper working order by daily walks/inspections.
Time/Attendance tracking and approval for all assigned personnel.
Tracking and communication of key metrics for the operation.
Ensure all personnel are trained and perform to production standards.
Actively identify and pursue continuous improvement opportunities in assigned areas utilizing employee input as much as possible.
Facilitate, lead, and maintain continuous improvement initiatives in the department.
Work closely with material handlers and team leaders to help them schedule their day around the department’s schedule.
Prepare and maintain all production data accurately and in a timely manner, this may include, but is not limited to work orders, production reports, scrap reports, and safety inspections.
Maintain inventories of materials on hand for subsequent processing and prepare requisitions for supplies and materials as needed to maintain production.
Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
Employee performance counseling and disciplinary policy enforcement if warranted.
Always interact with employees in a professional manner.

Job Qualifications:

Five to ten years of manufacturing related experience.
Minimum of four years of management/supervisory experience.
Wood finishing experience preferred but not required.
Lean manufacturing training and experience a plus.
Demonstrated experience with Root Cause Countermeasure (RCCM) methodologies and problem solving techniques.
Excellent coaching and communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills to minimize down time and ensure team is working efficiently.
Knowledgeable in raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Experience with strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
Ability to monitor/assess performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will need to be able to stand and walk for extended periods; occasionally bend and/or stoop.Requires physical dexterity to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move material or finished goods and supplies, up to 25-40 pounds.

Must be comfortable working in a factory setting where you may be exposed to loud noise, extreme temperatures (hot and cold), and dust. PPE is always required, while on the production floor.
