Job summary

Virginia Transformer Corp. is seeking an experienced Production Superintendent to lead daily manufacturing operations at our transformer production facility in Rincon, GA.

You will drive safety, quality, productivity and workforce development, partner with planning and engineering, and champion Lean initiatives to improve throughput and FPY. This hands-on leadership role offers growth, competitive compensation, and a direct impact on critical infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Experience leading hourly manufacturing teams in an industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, workforce management, safety, and quality systems.
  • Proven ability to drive operational performance and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Position Summary

Georgia Transformer Corp. is seeking an experienced Production Superintendent to lead daily manufacturing operations within our transformer production facility. This role is responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, workforce development, and operational performance while ensuring production schedules and customer commitments are achieved.

The Production Superintendent will provide leadership to supervisors, leads, and production employees, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, teamwork, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will be a hands‑on manufacturing leader with a strong background in industrial production environments.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
  • Direct and oversee daily production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.
  • Drive execution of production schedules while meeting quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.
  • Ensure effective utilization of labor, materials, equipment, and manufacturing resources.
  • Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions to address operational challenges.
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, team leads, and production personnel.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee development initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Address employee concerns and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Production Planning & Performance
  • Review production schedules, staffing plans, inventory requirements, and resource allocation to meet customer demands.
  • Partner with planning, materials, engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure production readiness.
  • Drive improvements in throughput, labor efficiency, schedule attainment, and First Pass Yield (FPY).
  • Utilize production metrics and operational reports to identify trends, resolve issues, and improve overall plant performance.
Safety & Quality
  • Champion a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support quality initiatives and ensure adherence to established manufacturing standards and procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve safety, quality, and production issues in a timely manner.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Participate in capital improvement projects and manufacturing process enhancements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in a supervisory, superintendent, production manager, or operations management role.
  • Experience leading hourly manufacturing teams in an industrial production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, workforce management, safety, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational performance and develop high‑performing teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
  • Electrical equipment, transformer, switchgear, motor, or industrial manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing, metal fabrication, assembly operations, or engineered-to-order production environments.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment supporting critical infrastructure industries.
