Job summary

Virginia Transformer Corp in Rincon, Georgia is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery of custom transformers. You will oversee a team of skilled operators, coordinate across engineering, materials, and quality to meet demanding production targets.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of supervisory experience in heavy manufacturing and a proven track record of driving efficiency through Lean initiatives and ERP-based

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or industrial environments (heavy electrical, transformer, or fabrication experience strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams in a high-mix, low-volume production environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate diverse teams.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles.
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and production reporting tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate day-to-day manufacturing activities within assigned production area (e.g., assembly, winding, or tank fabrication).
  • Drive safety culture by enforcing policies, conducting safety audits, and leading toolbox talks.
  • Monitor production schedules, resource allocation, and output to meet customer delivery and cost objectives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop production staff — including performance feedback, skill development, and attendance management.
  • Partner with engineering and quality teams to resolve nonconformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Track and report KPIs including throughput, scrap, efficiency, and labor utilization.
  • Support Lean and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at waste reduction and process optimization.
  • Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and materials to maintain production standards and minimize downtime.
  • Participate in daily Gemba walks and cross-functional meetings to address production challenges.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field

Job Title: Production Supervisor

Reports To: Plant Manager

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily operations on the manufacturing floor, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity goals are consistently met. This individual manages a team of skilled operators, technicians, and assemblers, coordinating across engineering, materials, and quality departments to deliver on-time, high-quality power transformers.
