Job description

Are you an experienced manufacturing professional who enjoys solving problems, building relationships, and helping manufacturers improve their operations?

NHMA is looking for a Manufacturing Solutions Manager to work directly with manufacturers throughout New Hampshire and the surrounding region.

This is not a traditional sales role. We're looking for a manufacturing professional first and a business developer second, someone who understands the challenges of running a manufacturing operation and can work with all levels within an organization to recognize operational challenges, identify solutions and connect those to NHMA's capabilities and services.

What You'll Do

By working closely with the President of the company:

  • Build relationships with manufacturers and develop new business opportunities throughout New Hampshire and surrounding region.
  • Visit manufacturing facilities and assess operational challenges and opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities for Lean implementation, continuous improvement, quality-system development, leadership development, technical training, overall operational performance.
  • Translate client needs with NHMA solutions and connect subject-matter experts (consultants, trainers, auditors, and technical experts) as required.
  • Develop proposals, scopes of work, project plans, and recommendations.
  • Manage client relationships and projects from initial engagement through project completion.
  • Build and maintain long-term relations with NHMA clients and grow existing accounts by identifying additional ways NHMA can support their business.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Extensive experience in manufacturing operations, management, engineering, quality, continuous improvement, or related discipline
  • The ability to communicate, establish credibility and build relationships with manufacturing executives and operational leaders
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001
  • Who can identify manufacturing problems and translate them into practical business solutions.
  • Strong project and client relationship management
  • Strong in communication and presentation, with the ability to clearly and confidently convey and present information to diverse audiences, from executive levels to front-line employees
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRMs
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma, AS9100, ISO 13485, CMMC, ITAR, DFARS, 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Visual Management, TPM, SMED/Setup Reduction and Root Cause Analysis, or manufacturing training and consulting is a plus.

10+ years of manufacturing experience is preferred. A bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, business, operations, or a related field is preferred, but significant industry experience may substitute.

Who Will Thrive in This Role

You can walk into a manufacturing facility, understand what's happening on the floor, ask the right questions, listen to both employees and leadership, and quickly recognize opportunities for improvement.

You're comfortable developing business, but your credibility comes from your manufacturing knowledge and experience and not a traditional sales playbook approach.

If you are passionate about working with manufacturers, solving operational challenges, and helping companies become stronger, more competitive and thrive, we'd like to hear from you.
