Job summary

MPI is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineering Leader to shape the strategy for a flagship production facility. You will lead a multidisciplinary team and partner with operations, quality, and supply chain to drive safety, quality, productivity, and cost improvements.

The successful candidate will have extensive leadership in machining-intensive environments, hands-on technical skills, and a proven track record of delivering process improvements and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Associate degree acceptable with 15+ years of experience in engineering/management.
• Strong leadership experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with CNC machining, fabrication, assembly, or precision manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and mentor a multidisciplinary manufacturing engineering team.
• Drive continuous improvement focusing on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
• Develop and implement robust manufacturing processes and production methodologies.
• Support introduction and scale-up of new products from development through production.
• Collaborate with operations, quality, supply chain, EHS, and stakeholders to meet objectives.
• Act as technical authority for manufacturing engineering, machining, tooling, and production challenges.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and operational excellence programs.
• Manage process documentation and ensure compliance with customer, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities for automation, technology adoption, and manufacturing innovation.
• Analyze production performance metrics and implement data-driven improvements.
• Support capital equipment investments and long-term capability planning.
• Promote accountability, teamwork, safety, and engineering excellence.

Job Description

Reporting directly into the VP/GM, you will be responsible for the following:

• Lead, develop, and mentor a multidisciplinary manufacturing engineering team.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be an experienced manufacturing engineering leader with a strong background in machining-intensive manufacturing environments. They will possess a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and hands-on leadership capability, with a proven track record of improving operational performance and leading engineering teams.Key requirements include:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Associate's Degree is acceptable with 15+ years of experience in engineering and management.
• Significant leadership experience within a complex manufacturing environment.
• Strong hands-on experience supporting CNC machining, fabrication, assembly, or precision manufacturing operations.
• Demonstrated success delivering process improvements, productivity gains, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead multiple priorities and drive projects to completion.
• Experience leading and developing engineering teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to analyze data, manage risk, and make informed business decisions.
• Experience with engineering and business systems such as CAD software and ERP platforms.
• A proactive, results-oriented leadership style with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
