ABOUT TECHNH

Founded in 1982, TechNH has grown from a small specialty mold-making operation in Nashua, New Hampshire, into an advanced custom plastic injection molding company serving medical device, defense, alternative energy, water treatment, and industrial markets. Today, TechNH combines injection molding with engineering, in-house tooling, cleanroom manufacturing, quality, and regulatory expertise to manufacture complex, highly engineered components for demanding applications.

In 2023, MCM Capital Partners completed a majority investment in TechNH, providing additional resources to support the company's continued growth. Building on more than four decades of manufacturing expertise, TechNH is now focused on strengthening its people, systems, and operating capabilities to support its next stage of scalable, profitable growth.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Manufacturing Operations is a senior, hands‑on leader accountable for Production, Tooling, Facilities, and Shipping. This leader strengthens manufacturing operations; establishes clear operating metrics, ownership, and accountability; and oversees improvements related to safety, quality, delivery, capacity, productivity, cost, asset utilization, and profitability.

The successful candidate brings deep manufacturing experience, financial fluency, Lean Six Sigma discipline, and a collaborative leadership style. Working as a strategic peer with Sales, Human Resources, Finance, Quality, Engineering, and other functions, this leader builds strong teams and scalable capabilities while connecting day‑to‑day operating decisions to cost, margin, cash, and EBITDA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead Production, Tooling, Facilities, and Shipping as an integrated operation aligned with company priorities, customer commitments, and profitable growth; maintain a strong floor presence across multiple shifts.
  • Establish clear operating metrics, ownership, and accountability across manufacturing, supported by disciplined review, escalation, root‑cause problem solving, and corrective action.
  • Create & maintain a system to translate customer demand and business priorities into effective production schedules and capacity plans, aligning staffing, equipment, and tooling requirements while proactively identifying constraints and investment needs.
  • Build and sustain meaningful leading and lagging indicators for safety, quality, delivery, cost, capacity, productivity, and execution risk, including schedule attainment, labor efficiency, utilization, downtime, preventive maintenance, cycle time, yield, scrap/rework, overtime, tooling readiness, throughput, backlog, and on‑time delivery.
  • Embed Lean Six Sigma and practical continuous‑improvement methods, including visual management, standard work, 5S, waste reduction, structured root‑cause analysis, and process capability; ensure gains are measurable and sustained.
  • Own manufacturing performance against operating plans and budgets. Partner with Finance to understand and improve standard/actual costs, labor and overhead absorption, variances, inventory/WIP, COGS, margin, working capital, and EBITDA, and develop sound business cases for capital investment.
  • Develop manufacturing managers, supervisors, and key operational roles through clear expectations, coaching, knowledge sharing, accountability, and increasing decision‑making capability.
  • Build and lead a high‑performing manufacturing organization and culture characterized by accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, strong communication, and ownership of results.
  • Partner closely with Human Resources Director on workforce planning, organization design, leadership development, succession and bench strength, talent assessment, performance management, engagement, change management, and organizational capability.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Finance, and customer‑facing functions on process capability, manufacturability, validation readiness, regulatory compliance, operating priorities, and cross‑functional problem solving.
  • Ensure operations support applicable ISO 13485:2016, FDA, ITAR, customer, traceability, validation, process‑control, safety, and environmental requirements; provide leadership for equipment, facility, tooling reliability, shipping, inventory discipline, and customer delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a closely related technical/manufacturing discipline; master's degree or MBA preferred. An equivalent combination of highly relevant education and progressive manufacturing leadership experience may be considered.
  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing operations experience, including at least 5 years leading managers, supervisors, or multiple operational functions; experience in a growing small‑to‑mid‑sized manufacturer strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership across production and supporting plant functions such as tooling, facilities/maintenance, shipping/logistics, planning, or related operations; plastics/injection molding experience strongly preferred.
  • 3-5 years applying and sustaining Lean Six Sigma or comparable continuous improvement methods with measurable business results; Green Belt or higher preferred, with demonstrated application valued over certification alone.
  • Strong manufacturing finance and cost‑accounting knowledge, including operational impacts on standard/actual cost, labor and overhead absorption, variances, inventory, COGS, margin, cash, capital investment, and EBITDA.
  • Demonstrated success establishing operational KPIs and management routines and improving capacity, productivity, quality, delivery, cost, and organizational capability.
  • Highly regulated manufacturing experience strongly preferred; medical device, defense, ISO 13485, cleanroom, and/or other controlled environments are especially relevant.
  • Executive‑level communication, sound judgment, integrity, financial acumen, and a demonstrated ability to build strong cross‑functional partnerships across HR, Finance, Sales, Quality, Engineering, and other functions
  • Demonstrated success building, developing, and leading high‑performing manufacturing teams, including strengthening leadership capability, creating accountability, improving team effectiveness, and fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Candidates must be able to substantiate significant operational, financial, and leadership accomplishments through professional references.
