Job summary

ThermoSafe is recruiting a Shift Lead for its Shepherdsville, KY site. The role leads daily production, coordinates resources, and drives safety, quality, and efficiency across teams to meet customer requirements.

You will mentor staff, manage shift handoffs, and contribute to continuous improvement through Lean and standard work practices. A strong safety mindset and experience with ERP systems are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree, technical certification, military technical training, or other post-secondary education preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing, production, operations, or related industrial environment.
• Experience coordinating production activities, resource planning, or production scheduling.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and effectively coach, train, and develop employees.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety standards, quality systems, and operational best practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
• Experience utilizing manufacturing, ERP, or production management systems.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to promote safe work practices and maintain a safe working environment.
• Ability to analyze operational issues, prioritize work, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.
• Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and schedules to support efficient manufacturing operations and customer requirements.
• Provide leadership, coaching, training, and performance feedback to production team members.
• Monitor operational performance and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production, quality, inventory, and equipment issues.
• Support employee onboarding, training, development, and workforce readiness initiatives.
• Ensure accurate completion and maintenance of production, inventory, labor, and operational records.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts through problem-solving, root cause analysis, and waste reduction activities.
• Support implementation and sustainment of operational excellence initiatives, including Lean, 5S, and standard work practices.
• Monitor staffing levels and coordinate shift coverage to maintain operational continuity.
• Facilitate effective communication and shift handoffs to ensure alignment across teams and departments.
• Partner with Quality and Maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and adherence to product specifications.
• Support performance management activities, including employee development, recognition, coaching, and corrective action as appropriate.
• Assist in identifying and developing talent to support succession planning and organizational growth.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaged work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
