Job summary

Protolabs is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead a manufacturing team on the FLEX shift (Fri–Sun, 6 pm–6 am). You will oversee daily operations, drive safety and quality, coach staff, and push continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

You will manage workloads, evaluate performance, approve overtime, and ensure timely attainment of production goals while maintaining a culture of accountability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in an applicable discipline; 6 years of applicable experience.
• Four years of relevant manufacturing and/or operations management.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Licensed to operate material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane hoist, etc.).
• Able to read and write in English and do basic arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Plans and supervises the daily activities in manufacturing area for a shift.
• Find training needs and ensure staff are trained.
• Ensure staff are qualified and trained.
• Ensure production output supports the schedule and meets quality requirements.
• Evaluate performance and provide evaluations.
• Plan overtime and vacation requests.
• Monitor supplies and equipment; initiate purchasing as needed.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Uphold safety, housekeeping, and company policies.
