Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Newton, NC, seeks a Manufacturing Section Supervisor to lead front-line supervisors and hourly associates, owning safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale while driving daily operations and longer-term manufacturing improvements with engineering, maintenance, and planning teams.

You will guide a team to meet production plans, optimize changeovers, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field required.
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience with demonstrated leadership progression.
• Direct people management experience including salaried and hourly employees.
• Proven track record developing and managing manufacturing performance metrics across safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing operations — manage production metrics, staffing, and overtime, identify bottlenecks, and maintain queue levels for efficient execution.
• Partner with planning and scheduling to execute the weekly and monthly production plan; manage major product and process changeovers, equipment upgrades, and maintenance activities.
• Champion continuous improvement by partnering with the lean organization to drive OEE gains through setup time reduction and unplanned downtime elimination.
• Lead and develop a team of front-line supervisors and hourly associates; deploy talent management programs and hold the team accountable to safety, quality, cost, and delivery scorecards.
