Job summary

Motion Recruitment Partners seeks a Manufacturing Quality and Control Engineer to lead quality initiatives at our Columbus, IN facility. You will champion process improvements, drive defect reduction, and partner with cross-functional teams to meet customer expectations.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, GD&T mastery, and proficiency with AIAG core tools and metrology software. On-site, with strong growth in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering field.
• 2–5 years manufacturing experience, preferably automotive.
• Ability to convey technical data clearly to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Quality Management: Ensure IATF 16949, APQP and PPAP requirements.
• Dimensional Engineering: GD&T analysis and 3D measurement using PolyWorks.
• Problem Solving: Lead 8D, 5-Why and Ishikawa to resolve issues.
• Technical Support: Metrology, SPC and MSA (Gage R&R) studies.
• Continuous Improvement: Apply Lean and Six Sigma to reduce scrap and variation.
• Collaboration: Work with manufacturing, tooling and customers on changes.
• Mentorship: Coach junior team members in quality practices.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in GD&T, AIAG Core Tools, metrology software.
