Job summary

Fives Giddings & Lewis in Fond du Lac, WI seeks a Manager – Quality Assurance to lead the quality program, supervise staff, and align QA objectives with the plant goals. You will analyze data, implement QMS processes, and drive supplier quality initiatives to meet customer requirements.

The role requires strong experience in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, APQP/PPAP, Six Sigma, and hands-on quality leadership in a manufacturing setting. Travel is approximately 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing or related field.
• 6-10 years related experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, OEM preferred.
• Experience with supplier quality and customer quality programs.

Responsibilities

• Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
• Maintains compliance with QMS based on ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and other standards.
• Supports management review meetings and reports on QMS effectiveness.
• Coordinates internal audit programs, reporting findings and corrective action follow-up.
• Liaise with external auditors and certification bodies.
• Train employees on QMS procedures and requirements; educate and promote understanding of the QMS.
• Acts as liaison with the customer on contract quality issues for all goods and services produced by the plant.
• Implements document control systems and coordinates review and approval activities for the Quality Manual, procedures, and work instructions.
• Responsible for Supplier Development programs and improvements; establishes supplier quality performance metrics.
• Develop performance measures to assess the effectiveness of quality processes.
• Establishes formal quality verification systems and standards to meet requirements.
• Implement practices to measure capability throughout manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Coordinate activities for identifying, handling, dispositioning, and reporting nonconformance.
• Maintains a system for corrective actions by analyzing non-conformances and process shortfalls.
• Coordinates resolution of out-of-control process issues related to purchased parts.
• Participates in training and certification activities.
• Uses data collection, measurement, statistical analysis, capability studies, control plans to drive decisions.
• Monitors customer satisfaction surveys and follow through with improvements.
• Achieves company quality metrics.
• Monitors warranty performance and drives product improvement by root-cause analysis.
