Scot Forge Company is seeking an entry-level Manufacturing/Production - Forge Utility Worker in Franklin Park, IL. The role supports forge operations and requires frequent heavy lifting, basic math, and mechanical aptitude. Training is provided, and the company emphasizes safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to do frequent heavy lifting in a hot work environment.
• Strong math and mechanical aptitude.
• Tape measure and computer experience.
• Manufacturing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate metal pre-forgings with Blacksmith.
• Load and unload 65 lb. pieces with tongs into forge furnace and hammer.
• Remove scrap from pit, shovel and unload.

HOURS:

Scot Forge performs a hair follicle drug screen, lift test up to 65 lbs. and background check.

Scot Forge is a 100% employee-owned company that manufactures custom open die and rolled ring forgings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Coordinate metal pre-forgings with Blacksmith.
• Load and unload 65 lb. pieces with tongs into forge furnace and hammer
• Remove scrap from pit, shovel and unload.

Scot Forge has a customized training program to learn forging and stamping metal available for the right candidate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimal Skills-
• Ability to do frequent heavy lifting in a hot work environment
• Strong Math and Mechanical aptitude
• Tape measure and computer experience
• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Skills -

• Previous manufacturing experience
• Use of micrometer, caliper, tape measure
• Machine set up and operation
