Responsibilities

• Set up equipment, install tools and fixtures. Monitor entire run due to unique forgings.
• Run production, monitoring CNC machines/ lathes / mills / saws. Check parts throughout run and make adjustments.
• Verify blueprint and dimensions; identify forgings and material type; read part routing.
• Visually inspect, layout and prepare materials; examine material for flaws and clean up.
• Calculate chain and strap adjustments to ensure safe lifting and transporting of parts.
• Load material into machine using overhead crane and secure for safe machining of large forgings.
• Pre-load part, verify forgings and material type; inspect and clean up.
• Participate in safety program to ensure ongoing program success.

We have locations in Franklin Park, IL, Spring Grove, IL, and Clinton, WI.

Helpful experience includes micrometer, caliper, shop math, CNC, mill, lathe, machinist, band saw, tape measure, forklift, grinding, QC, metal fabrication, etc.

A hair follicle drug screen, lifting test up to 65 lbs and background check are required pre-employment.

AREAS OF FOCUS:

• Operate and set up CNC machinery.
• Using gauges - micrometers or calipers
• Driving Forklifts
• Actively participate in safe work practices

Scot Forge has a fully paid customized training program for CNC machining, set ups and programming for the right candidate.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS-

• Set up equipment, install tools and fixtures. Monitor entire run due to unique forgings.
• Run production, monitoring CNC machines/ lathes / mills / saws. Check parts throughout run making necessary adjustments to conform to specifications.
• Verify blueprint and dimensions. Identify forgings and material type. Read and understand entire part routing.
• Visually inspect, layout and prepare materials as required. Examine material visually for flaws, defects and clean up.
• Calculate chain and strap adjustments to ensure the safe lifting and transporting of parts.
• Load material into machine utilizing overhead crane and secure to ensure safe machining on forgings that can exceed 100,000 lbs.
• Prior to loading part, identify forgings, material type, and verify blueprint and dimensions. Examine material visually for flaws, defects and clean-up.
• Actively participate in safety program to ensure the continued success of the program.# 1783
