Manufacturing Process Improvement Engineer

Job summary

ITW in Roselle, IL seeks an engineer to develop and implement process improvements, maintain the Quality System, and lead safety initiatives in a high-volume manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include CAD design, tooling optimization, capacity planning, and capital project management, with a strong emphasis on Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to boost efficiency and product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience in high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge and application of design, engineering and technology, computers and electronics, technology design, and problem solving.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and /or SolidWorks CAD software.
• Experience with Value Stream Mapping, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma tools, automation, and capital projects is a plus.
• Safety-focused mindset with strong written and oral communication, organizational planning and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and implement process adjustments and new manufacturing techniques to reduce costs, waste, and improve safety and quality.
• Maintain and improve the Quality System, calibration, alerts, nonconforming material disposition, and KPIs.
• Support safety initiatives, lead root cause analysis, and develop SOPs/JSAs.
• Lead changes using ITW Toolbox tools (80/20, Inlining, PLoS, Market Rate of Demand) as appropriate.
• Provide troubleshooting on dies, tooling, and machine parts to improve production processes.
• Train operators on die setup/changeover techniques and design/layout improvements.
