Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a manufacturing engineer to design and optimize assembly processes for fuel injectors at the Pontiac, IL facility. You will lead improvements in safety, quality, efficiency, and cost, while guiding the engineering support staff and cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes APQP, PFMEA, process flow, control plans, and the development of innovative process designs for new products and performance optimization of existing injectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical degree, or equivalent amount of relative experience.
• Strong knowledge of APQP elements, PFMEA, process flow and control plans.
• Experience improving safety, quality, efficiency and cost in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement enhancements to complex manufacturing operations and processes.
• Monitor equipment reliability and address problem areas.
• Supervise, coach and develop operations technical staff.
• Lead engineering support on planning, development, operation, and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
• Drive continuous improvement of the current assembly process.
• Facilitate and create APQP elements including PFMEA, Process Flow and Control Plans.
