Job summary

AST is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing delivery and cost performance. You will be the technical owner of manufacturing processes, driving engineering operations, projects, and continuous improvements on site in Tacoma, WA.

You will coordinate with design and production teams to enhance uptime, yields, and efficiency, while creating routings, standard work, and manufacturing data. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 1–3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• 1–3 years’ experience as an engineer in industrial machine design and testing.
• Familiar with 3-D solid modeling software (Inventor, AutoCAD).
• Familiar with GD&T, CNC processes, and manufacturing data such as routings.
• Proficient with MS Office, ERP, and various CAD/CAE tools.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement to drive cost and delivery improvements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate manufacturing technical support to upgrade technologies and improve uptime, yield, quality, and costs.
• Interact with contractors and service providers for project execution.
• Contribute to design reviews and provide input to design engineers.
• Coordinate DFM and DFA on new products prior to launch.
• Develop jigs and assembly tools and improve manufacturing efficiencies.
