Job summary
Ascentec Engineering, headquartered in Tualatin, Oregon, is hiring a Production Engineer to develop, improve, and support manufacturing processes to achieve safe, efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective production. This role collaborates with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Supply Chain to remove bottlenecks and drive throughput.
The position is onsite and requires hands-on shop-floor leadership, data-driven problem solving, and experience with Lean methods.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or closely related engineering field.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, and SOPs.
- Analyze production processes to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
- Establish and maintain standard work, cycle times, and labor standards.
- Support new product introduction, process changes, and production transfers.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide daily engineering support to production personnel and supervisors.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing problems and coordinate corrective actions.
- Monitor machine utilization, downtime, and throughput.
