Manufacturing Process Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Stay informed of current and emerging technologies and manufacturing practices to enhance company efficiency.
- Select and specify tooling packages for all machine shop operations.
- Perform job costing analysis and ensure manufacturing cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct time and motion analysis studies.
- Research, prepare, and present cost/benefit analyses of capital equipment.
- Interact daily with other departments and outside suppliers to support operations.
- Review existing manufacturing processes and develop new methods to keep capabilities current and optimized.
- Collaborate with department peers to review new product concepts and designs for manufacturability.
- Effectively troubleshoot production floor issues.
- Provide technical support to outside machining and assembly suppliers as needed.
- Develop and maintain efficient manufacturing processes to support machining and assembly of various components and electro-mechanical assemblies.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a production manufacturing environment.
- Experience in developing machining processes.
- Proficiency in designing jigs, fixtures, and tooling using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
- Intermediate knowledge of manufacturing methods, fabrication, heat treating, welding, and machine operation.
- Ability to promote a positive, professional atmosphere and support activities that enhance employee welfare and morale.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to safety policies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and SPC concepts.
- Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
- Professional qualities including initiative, integrity, and teamwork orientation.
- Physical ability to perform bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, climbing, balancing, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to temperature, weather, and noise.
