Job description

Manufacturing Process Engineer

Responsibilities:

1. Be aware of current and emerging technologies and manufacturing practices to increase company efficiency.
2. Select and specify tooling packages for all machine shop operations.
3. Perform job costing analysis and ensure cost effectiveness of manufacturing.
4. Perform time and motion analysis studies.
5. Help with researching, preparing, and presenting cost / benefit analysis of capital equipment.
6. This position will require daily interaction with other departments and outside suppliers in support of operations.
7. Review existing manufacturing processes and develop new manufacturing methods to keep our manufacturing capabilities current and optimized.
8. Work closely with department peers to review new product concepts and designs for manufacturability.
9. Troubleshoot production floor issues effectively and timely.
10. Provide technical support to outside machining and assembly suppliers as required.
11. Responsible for developing and maintaining effective and efficient manufacturing processes to support the Machine Shop and Assembly Shop with machining and assembly of a wide variety of components and electro-mechanical assemblies.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering

Requirements:

1. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a production manufacturing environment.
2. Familiarity with developing machining processes.
3. Experience with designing jigs, fixtures, and tooling using SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling CAD software.
4. Intermediate knowledge of manufacturing methods, fabrication processes, heat treating, welding, and machine operation.
5. Promote a positive, professional atmosphere and support activities that enhance the welfare and morale of our employees.
6. Promote and ensure a safe working environment by demonstrating consistent adherence to our safety policies.
7. Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite to create documentation, spreadsheets, and databases to support Manufacturing operations.
8. Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
9. Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and SPC concepts.
10. Proficient in geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
11. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
12. Must possess excellent attention and respect for detail.
13. Proven professional qualities including strong initiative, integrity, and the desire / ability to work in a team environment.
14. Possess good mechanical aptitude.

Physical Requirements:

1. Bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, climbing, balancing, standing, and walking for extended periods while maintaining the necessary physical dexterity and coordination.
2. Work in various environmental conditions, which may include exposure to varying temperatures, weather, and noise levels.
