Summit Polymers in Kalamazoo, MI, is seeking a Manager of Plant Finance to lead financial operations for our manufacturing location. The role emphasizes data analysis, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with corporate financial policies under the FP&A framework.

The ideal candidate will have a accounting background, GAAP knowledge, and several years of manufacturing accounting experience, with the ability to translate numbers into actionable business insights for Plant leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• Minimum two years cost or manufacturing accounting experience.
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Desire and ability to dig into the “story behind the numbers.”

Responsabilités

• Assures proper process of Accounts Payable
• Directs the activity of the Finance Coordinator
• Maintains, analyzes, and interprets General Ledger account balances and ensures their accuracy
• Gathers and substantiates information for the development of the Plant’s budget
• Assists the General Manager and Department Managers with understanding the financial reports
• Advises and monitors compliance with administrative policy and procedure
• Is an integral part of the managerial team at the Plant
• Understands and is the source of information pertaining to the financial use of the computer system
• Investigates production reports by asking questions of the manufacturing staff
• Is familiar with manufacturing processes and their representation through the Bills of Material
• Ensures accurate and timely general ledger and period-end closings
• Assist Materials Department with period-end inventories
• Prepares data for and works with auditors as required
