Job Description – Automobile Manual Painter-Ventra Kansas

Department: Operations – Paint

Summary:

The Painter will ensure timely, consistent, and quality painting of all parts based on specification. Key duties include handling all parts with care, following specs, and maintaining cleanliness and functionality of all lines and equipment based on safety protocol and company standards.

Job Duties

1. Paint a variety of automobile parts
2. Detect defects quickly and efficiently
3. Set up, teardown, and clean booth, sprayers, and lines
4. Communicate with Shift Superintendent
5. Meet company goals within specified timeline

Requirements

1. 2+ years of painting experience
2. Knowledge of hand sprayers and systems
3. Ability to pass a color test
4. 2 years current forklift experience and certification preferred
5. Knowledge of paint specifics such as consistency, temperatures, and coat thickness
6. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs in a team lift

Working Conditions

Availability to work subject to manufacturing needs including mandatory overtime up to 12 hours a day. Exposed to manufacturing hazards such as loud machines, moving machinery, and fumes. Manual dexterity to grasp, type, squeeze and release triggers or tighten lines, move levers. This is an ambient work environment meaning cooler temps in the colder months and warmer temps in the hotter months. Physically demanding tasks include long periods of standing, stooping, squatting, bending, reaching side to side, overhead and below the waist. Use of PPE such as respirators, full body protective suits and gloves, safety glasses, and safety shoes.
