Responsible for a team assigned to the cell for the preparation, production, and/or packaging of blend material. In addition to the base responsibilities of a Manufacturing Operator I, employee must specialize in one or more of four specialty roles: 1) Blend Specialist, 2) Packaging Specialist, 3) Weight Room Specialist, and/or 4) Sanitation Specialist.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities (not restrictive)
- Effectively read, understand, and extract vital information from detailed batch records in written and electronic forms. Utilize this information to execute proper work instructions using the DQS system.
- Screen, blend, and package a variety of amino acids, vitamins, and minerals, including allergenic substances.
- Operate and monitor all processing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform equipment prep, cleaning, operation, and minor repairs.
- Ensure proper cleaning, blending, packaging, and material inspection per Standard Operating Procedures.
- Report equipment issues or damage to your supervisor.
- Perform retention sampling on products in sterile conditions.
- Maintain regular attendance, which is an essential function of this position.
Additional Functions
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Must specialize in one or more of the four roles: 1) Blend Specialist, 2) Packaging Specialist, 3) Weight Room Specialist, and/or 4) Sanitation Specialist.
- Blend Specialist
- Operate equipment such as blenders, screeners, mills, forklifts, magnets, packaging equipment, metal detectors, etc., including prep, cleaning, operation, and minor repairs like replacing seals and assembling/disassembling chopper blades.
- Possess working knowledge of 4 or more blenders.
- Weight Room Specialist
- Prepare blends and follow procedures to produce final blend products.
- Coordinate down pack of distribution orders daily.
- Handle R&D lab sample requests.
- Packaging Specialist
- Operate automated and semi-automated packaging lines independently.
- Sanitation Specialist
- Maintain sanitation standards.

- Follow company safety procedures.
- Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment in all required areas.
- Maintain a sanitary work environment.
- Use pallet jacks and forklifts safely when moving materials.
Qualification & Experience Requirements
Education, Training:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Forklift training and certification.
Experience Required:
- At least one year of manufacturing experience as a Machine Technician.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Complete Manufacturing Operator I Assessment successfully.
- Work with amino acids, vitamins, chemicals, including allergenic products.
- Follow instructions and SOPs.
- Work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends on short notice.
- Read and understand the DQS computer system.
- Knowledge of production documentation, weigh room, and DQS system.
Language, Computer & Numeracy:
- Fluent in English, verbal and written.
- Basic computer skills: MS Excel, Word, DQS, SAP.
