Job summary

Sheridan Grand Rapids is hiring a Manufacturing Operator - Bindery and will train you to run high-speed bindery equipment. You’ll start hands-on, learning the job while contributing to book and print production. A reliable teammate with basic math, reading orders, and quality focus will fit well.

The role emphasizes safety, daily teamwork, and opportunities to advance as you gain experience in a growing print manufacturing company.

What You’ll Do

• Feed books into machine
• Learn to interpret the information on the work order and its contents.
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation

• Safely operate trimmer

• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We’re Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you.
We’re looking for people who:

• Have experience operating machineryin any industry(manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It’s a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 20 lbs occasionally
