Job summary

Genie Recon. seeks an Operations Manager to own daily production execution across the facility, supervising Production Supervisors and ensuring throughput, quality, and safety.

You will drive KPI monitoring, coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, and HR, and lead tier meetings while escalating systemic issues to the Director of Operations.

This leadership role requires floor presence, strong communication, and a track record in heavy industrial environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and production systems in a heavy industrial environment.
• Ability to read, interpret, and enforce work instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures.
• Proficiency with production tracking systems, ERP, or MES tools.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to lead meetings, deliver feedback, and prepare operational reports.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, operations management, or a related field.
• Five (5)+ years of manufacturing leadership in heavy equipment or industrial reconditioning.
• Experience with lean manufacturing or structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Forklift certification. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

Responsibilities

• Own daily throughput, schedule attainment, and quality targets across all production areas; adjust priorities and resources in real time as conditions change.
• Deploy and redeploy labor across shifts and work areas based on production priorities, skill mix, and attendance.
• Lead daily tier meetings with Production Supervisors to review prior-day results, set the day’s priorities, and communicate critical information.
• Coordinate equipment repair priorities with Maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime and protect production hours.
• Monitor, report, and act on daily KPIs: throughput vs. plan, overtime %, attendance, schedule attainment, first-pass yield, and unplanned downtime.
• Coach and develop Production Supervisors; build bench strength through cross-training, skill development, and succession identification.
• Drive employee engagement through consistent expectations, recognition, and accountability.
