Job summary

Stellantis Manufacturing is seeking a Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer - Tool Engineer- UPE to join an engineering team focused on developing and launching safe, quality-driven, cost-conscious processes for NM, NNM, and adaptation programs.

The role covers North America powertrain battery tray/frame, casting, components, engine, and transmission programs, with sites across IN and MI. Strong problem-solving, project management and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3+ years in engineering or a related field

• Ability to translate technical data into executive summaries for clear presentations
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams to develop, specify, build and launch powertrain manufacturing processes

• Microsoft Office intermediate or advanced knowledge

Responsibilities

• Participate in assessments for process changes and investment requirements for cost studies
• Understand RFQ scope, sourcing, technical evaluations, design, manufacturing and installation
• Support NN/MN powertrain program requests and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
• Support NM facilities aspects including site preparation and machine installation
• Track and drive the Iron Triangle (Scope, Timing, Cost) across programs
• Engage in SIS methodology deployment and use SPW tools for root-cause problem solving
• Develop and improve standards related to facilities infrastructure
• Coordinate manufacturing plant activities across Dundee, Trenton, Kokomo and other locations as needed

Job description

The primary role of the Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer - Tool Engineer- UPE is to participate within an Engineering team to develop and launch processes that meet all objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and cost for both new model (NM), non-new model (NNM), and adaptation programs.

This position supports all Manufacturing Engineering functions for North America powertrain battery tray/frame, casting, components, engine, and transmission programs.

Main responsibilities include:

• Perform assessments for process changes and related investment requirements for cost studies
• Understand engineering scope definition, Requests for Quotes (RFQ’s), sourcing, technical evaluations, design, manufacturing, andinstallation of air/mist/coolant collectors and filtration
• Support and prioritize the Non-New Model (NNM) powertrain programs requests and ensure that approved programs are completedon time and within budget
• Support all New Model (NM) program’s facilities aspects including site preparation and machine installation
• Support flow activities on programs ensuring successful implementation and tracking of the Iron Triangle (Scope, Timing, and Cost)
• Participate in the implementation of Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) methodology, supporting all activities including deploymentofadvanced SPW tools and guide systematic root cause problem solving methods to attack risks
• Development/improvement of process and equipment standards related to facilities infrastructure
• Manufacturing Plants located in Dundee, Michigan (MI), Trenton, Michigan (MI), Kokomo, Indiana (IN) and Saltillo, Mexico (MX);
  Transmission Plants in Kokomo and Tipton, Indiana (IN); Casting Plants in Kokomo, Indiana (IN) and Etobicoke, Ontario (ON), Toledo, Ohio (OH), while maintaining a relationship with the Global CoC initiatives
• Drive standardization across plants in all regions

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED and THREE (3) years of experience in engineering or a related technical field
• Ability to work and interact with all levels of the organization
• Strong oral, written, presentation and organizational skills
• Ability to translate technical data and analysis into an executive summary format for presentation in easily understandable formats
• Ability to embrace cross-functional teams responsible for developing, specifying, building, and launching powertrain manufacturingprocesses
• Knowledge of advanced problem-solving skills and ability to manage data analysis to identify root causes and attack them to closure
• Knowledge of cost studies and strategic planning
• Microsoft Office intermediate or advance knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or technical equivalent
• Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Preferred FIVE (5) or more years of manufacturing experience, Powertrain Manufacturing experience a plus
• Preferred FIVE (5) or more years’ experience in program management or multi-tasking environment
