Responsibilities

  • Perform assessments for process changes and related investments for cost studies.
  • Understand RFQs, sourcing, technical evaluations, design, manufacturing, and installation of air/mist/coolant collectors and filtration.
  • Support NM/NNM powertrain program requests and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Support NM program facilities aspects including site prep and machine installation.
  • Track and drive the Iron Triangle: scope, timing, and cost across programs.
  • Contribute to Stellantis Production Way (SPW) rollout and problem-solving method deployment.
  • Develop/improve process and equipment standards for facilities infrastructure.
  • Support Engine, Transmission, e-components, or Chassis plants across listed locations, maintaining ties with Global CoC initiatives.
  • Drive standardization across plants in all regions.

Job description

The primary role of the Manufacturing Electrical Engineer - UPE is to work with the Engineering team to develop and launch processes that meet all objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and cost for both new model (NM), non-new model (NNM), and adaptation programs.

This role supports all Manufacturing Engineering functions for North America powertrain battery tray/frame, casting, components, engine and transmission programs. Must be able to travel 21%-40%.

Main responsibilities include:
  • Perform assessments for process changes and related investment requirements for cost studies
  • Understand engineering scope definition, Requests for Quotes (RFQ’s), sourcing, technical evaluations, design, manufacturing, and installation of air/mist/coolant collectors and filtration
  • Support and prioritize the Non-New Model (NNM) powertrain programs requests and ensure that approved programs are completed on time and within budget
  • Support all New Model (NM) program’s facilities aspects including site preparation and machine installation
  • Support flow activities on programs ensuring successful implementation and tracking of the Iron Triangle (Scope, Timing, and Cost)
  • Participate in the implementation of Stellantis Production Way (SPW) methodology, supporting all activities including deployment of advanced SPW tools and guide systematic root cause problem solving methods to attack risks
  • Development/improvement of process and equipment standards related to facilities infrastructure
  • Support the Engine, Transmission, e-components (Electric Drive Module, Motors) or Chassis (Battery Tray, Cradles, Cross Car Beams) Manufacturing Plants located in Dundee, Michigan (MI), Trenton, Michigan (MI), Kokomo, Indiana (IN) and Saltillo, Mexico (MX); Transmission Plants in Kokomo and Tipton, Indiana (IN); Casting Plants in Kokomo, Indiana (IN) and Etobicoke, Ontario (ON), Toledo, Ohio (OH), while maintaining a relationship with the Global CoC initiatives.
  • Drive standardization across plants in all regions
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with preferred THREE (3) years of experience in engineering or a related technical field
  • Ability to work and interact with all levels of the organization
  • Strong oral, written, presentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to translate technical data and analysis into an executive summary format for presentation in easily understandable formats
  • Ability to embrace cross-functional teams responsible for developing, specifying, building, and launching powertrain manufacturing processes
  • Ability to effectively coach and mentor employees
  • Knowledge of advanced problem-solving skills and ability to manage data analysis to identify root causes and attack them to closure
  • Knowledge of cost studies and strategic planning
  • Microsoft Office intermediate or advance knowledge
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or technical equivalent
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Preferred 10 years of manufacturing experience, Powertrain Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Preferred FIVE (5) years’ experience in program management or multi-tasking environment
