Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Manager for its Whitehall, MI casting plant. You will lead shop floor teams, drive lean manufacturing initiatives, and improve OEE, quality, and delivery while promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

The role requires extensive manufacturing leadership experience, willingness to relocate if needed, and authorization to work in the United States. Strong focus on cost reduction and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• HS Degree or GED and a minimum of 7 years in manufacturing with 5 years in leadership OR 3 years in leadership with minimum 1 year of Howmet leadership experience as a leader of other leaders in operations in a castings plant.
• Must be willing to relocate to other company locations to support future career development opportunities and business requirements.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing shop floor teams and promote manufacturing excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Provide leadership for continuous improvement of plant performance measurements (quality, productivity, cycle time, delivery and cash flow).
• Follow safety regulations and promote a safe work environment; improve planning, execution, and shop floor discipline.
• Develop budgets, strategic plans, and goals aligned with business objectives; drive cost reductions and lean initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with staff, customers, and management and drive standard work to reduce WIP and cycle time.
