Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Whitehall, Michigan, seeks an Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Leader to drive manufacturing improvements across Plant 3, Whitehall Casting.

You will lead focused projects to improve throughput, reduce inventory and operating costs, and mentor engineering staff. You will guide NPI initiatives, establish cost-reduction plans, and collaborate with internal and external partner teams to optimize core design and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing.
• Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to achieve product yield improvements and cost reduction in ceramic cores/parts.
• Direct and manage product tool/part designs and standards.
• Oversee New Product Introduction (NPI) ensuring timely, budgeted product development.
• Develop the plant scrap reduction plan and drive targets.
• Collaborate with Engineering Managers and cross-site teams on product status and issues.
• Coordinate with engine manufacturers’ engineering teams to optimize core design and producibility.
