Job summary

Vorteqcoil is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to operate and maintain plant machinery, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.

You will work in a 24/7 manufacturing environment, pass probationary tests, and enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including a $5,000 sign-on bonus and 401k match.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and related field experience required.
• Ability to pass company tests and perform during probation.
• Experience with electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery and perform preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot engines, motors, conveyors, and production machines.
• Locate sources of problems using measuring tools and instruments.
• Dismantle devices to replace defective parts using hoists and tools.
• Inspect parts to verify dimensional changes using calipers and micrometers.
• Adjust device parts and control instruments as needed.
• Maintain inventories and order parts as required.
• Prepare maintenance reports and communicate issues to teams.

Essential Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
• requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
• Controls downtime by conducting routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Experience / Education

• High School Diploma
• Prior field related experience
• Ability to pass required company tests; required to maintain and show proficiency during probationary training

• Previous experience in electrical engineering or other related fields
• Familiarity with electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals
• Familiarity with electrical equipment and hand tools
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Solid understanding of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and plumbing
• Welding and cutting skills preferred
• Language/Mathematical Skills
• Proficient in reading and writing
• Troubleshoot motor and control systems
• Perform routine maintenance on electrical wiring and systems
• Adhere to all quality and safety codes

• Standing for extended periods of time.

• Large machinery with moving parts as well as forklift traffic and material storage.

• 12-hour days (24/7 operation) - after qualified
• Overtime as needed
