Job summary

Vorteqcoil is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to ensure operation of machinery through preventive maintenance and timely troubleshooting of engines, motors, conveyance systems, and production equipment.

The role requires reading schematics, blueprints, and manuals, with hands-on use of tools, welding, and cutting where needed. You will maintain safety standards and contribute to team-wide reliability initiatives in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
  • Familiarity with electrical equipment and hand tools.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Solid understanding of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and plumbing.
  • Welding and cutting skills preferred.
  • Language/Mathematical skills.
  • Proficient in reading and writing.
  • Troubleshoot motor and control systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance on electrical wiring and systems.
  • Adhere to all quality and safety codes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures operation of machinery by completing preventive maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot engines, motors, conveyors per manuals; troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing devices and using testing instruments.
  • Remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, and tools.
  • Inspect parts with calipers and micrometers to check dimensions.
  • Adjusts functional parts using hand tools and levels.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies.
  • Provide maintenance information and prepare maintenance reports.
  • Maintain safety and clean work environment.
  • Document actions and communicate needs to teams.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Essential Responsibilities


  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.

  • requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

  • Troubleshoot- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.

  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.

  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.

  • Controls downtime by conducting routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.

  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.

  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.

  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.

  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.

  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.

  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Experience / Education


  • High School Diploma

  • Prior field related experience

  • Ability to pass required company tests; required to maintain and show proficiency during probationary training

  • Standing for extended periods of time.

  • 12-hour days

  • On Call Availability

  • Overtime as needed as
