Campbell Chain, a Hillman Group company, seeks a Machinist Maintenance Technician III to join the York, PA facility. You will serve as the senior machining expert, manufacturing, repairing, and rebuilding critical components and leading projects with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of machinist/maintenance experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and work independently.

Machinist Maintenance Technician III

We are looking for an experienced Machinist Maintenance Technician III to join our maintenance team and play a critical role in keeping our manufacturing equipment operating safely, reliably, and efficiently.

In this role, you will serve as a senior machining and maintenance expert responsible for manufacturing, repairing, modifying, and rebuilding critical machine components. You will operate manual and CNC machine tools, fabricate replacement parts, support complex equipment repairs, and help drive equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.

What You’ll Do
  • Manufacture, repair, and modify machine components, tooling, fixtures, and equipment parts.
  • Operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, and CNC machining equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to produce precision components.
  • Fabricate replacement parts when OEM components are unavailable or require modification.
  • Restore worn equipment and rebuild assemblies to support production uptime.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues and assist with complex repairs.
  • Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other inspection tools.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Lead complex machining and fabrication projects with minimal supervision.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and equipment modifications.
  • Mentor less experienced technicians and share technical expertise.
  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance efforts.
  • Follow all safety, housekeeping, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of experience as a machinist, toolmaker, industrial maintenance technician, or related manufacturing role.
  • Strong experience operating manual machining equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical school certification, apprenticeship, or formal machinist training.
  • CNC setup, operation, and programming experience.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Experience supporting industrial manufacturing equipment and rebuild projects.
  • Knowledge of reliability and continuous improvement practices.
