Job summary

Johnson & Johnson MedTech is seeking a Manufacturing Lead to join the Ottava production team. This frontline leader coordinates daily manufacturing activities, mentors technicians, and ensures safety, quality, and on-time delivery on the production floor.

You will drive continuous improvement, collaborate with engineering and cross-functional partners, and maintain compliance with quality systems; this role reports into the OTTAVA Manufacturing organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum associate degree with 6–8 related years of experience or engineering/mechatronics equivalent degree with 6–8 years of related experience.
• Experience as Manufacturing Technician for a medical device or complex electromechanical capital equipment manufacturer.
• Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills (multimeter, isolation techniques).
• Proven leadership in coordinating production activities and driving execution in manufacturing.
• Experience mentoring and developing manufacturing personnel.
• Proficiency in SAP and MES/ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production floor activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets.
• Assign and coordinate technician work priorities based on production needs and resources.
• Mentor and develop manufacturing technicians; provide hands-on support for troubleshooting and assembly.
• Facilitate shift handoffs and communicate production status to leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Represent the production floor in performance reviews and cross-functional discussions.
• Monitor progress and escalate issues impacting objectives.
• Drive adherence to procedures, quality standards, safety, and training compliance.
• Verify personnel are trained and qualified on procedures and equipment.
• Maintain proficiency across multiple subassemblies and provide technical guidance.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software issues; assist root-cause analysis.
• Create and release work orders in MES/ERP when required.
• Lead Kaizen events and Lean initiatives; support continuous improvement.
• Report shortages and manage material transactions and cycle counts.
