Job summary

Precision Metal Products (PMP) is seeking a Human Resources Manager for its El Cajon, CA plant. This role serves as HR business partner, leading employee relations, recruiting, compensation, payroll, benefits, training, safety, and compliance to support plant leadership.

You will manage onboarding, workforce planning, and HR projects, collaborating with corporate HR. California wage‑hour compliance and a strong HRIS foundation are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field.
• 5+ years progressive HR experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience leading HR projects from planning through implementation.
• Working knowledge of California wage-and-hour requirements.
• Experience with benefits administration and HRIS.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ADP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary HR partner for employees and plant leadership, guiding on employee relations, performance, attendance, disciplinary matters, policies, and workplace concerns.
• Conduct and document employee relations investigations and coach leaders on performance management and corrective action.
• Manage recruiting for hourly and salaried positions, including postings, screening, interviews, offers, and temporary staffing support.
• Oversee onboarding, orientation, employment documentation, and required HR and safety training.
• Partner with leadership on staffing, workforce planning, succession planning, organizational changes, promotions, and retention initiatives.
• Support compensation administration, including offers, wage adjustments, promotions, shift differentials, market reviews, and internal equity.
• Oversee timekeeping and payroll administration and maintain accurate employee information and records in the HRIS.
• Administer employee benefits and coordinate with corporate HR and providers regarding enrollment and leaves.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and California employment requirements.
• Own plant safety programs, trainings, audits, investigations, corrective actions, workers' compensation, and return-to-work activities.
• Lead HR, workforce development, and continuous improvement initiatives from planning through implementation.
