Job summary

Schafer Industries in South Bend, IN is seeking a Human Resources Manager to lead our site HR function for a high-volume manufacturing operation. You will partner with site leadership to align people strategies with production goals, drive workforce planning, talent management, safety, and regulatory compliance.

The role focuses on employee engagement, policy development, and continuous improvement of HR processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead HR strategy aligned with production goals and business objectives.
• Oversee talent acquisition for machinists, technicians, engineers, and supervisors.
• Manage employee relations, investigations, and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure OSHA/ADA/FMLA compliance, workers' compensation, and unemployment claims.
• Develop workforce planning, succession, and training initiatives.
• Drive safety culture and HR process improvements across the site.
