Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Co. is seeking an HR Coordinator / Labor Scheduler at our Buffalo, NY Milk-Bone manufacturing facility. This full-time, on-site role blends HR duties with labor scheduling to support people and operations.

You will partner with employees, union leadership, and plant management to ensure a positive employee experience and efficient workforce operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, labor scheduling, or workforce coordination.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop labor schedules based on production schedules and demand.
• Schedule employees weekly considering qualifications, staffing needs, and availability.
• Coordinate weekend overtime sign-ups, layoff programs, and daily overtime opportunities.
• Partner with leaders to forecast staffing needs and adjust schedules.
• Provide labor and workforce reports to HR leadership and Payroll.
