Job summary

SPX Technologies in Madison, AL seeks an HR Generalist to partner with leaders across the employee lifecycle, from recruiting to offboarding, while ensuring compliance with employment laws and the collective bargaining agreement. This hands-on role emphasizes relationship-building, confidentiality, and practical HR support to enable business success.

You will drive employee relations, performance management, benefits, payroll, and leave administration, coaching leaders, and improving processes

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of progressive HR experience in a Generalist/HRBP role.
• Experience supporting employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance, payroll, and leave.
• Experience coaching supervisors on relations, policy interpretation, and performance.
• Knowledge of FMLA, FLSA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, and wage/hour rules.
• Strong business acumen balancing advocacy with business needs.
• Advanced MS Office skills; experience with HRIS and payroll systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary HR contact for employees and supervisors on daily HR matters.
• Partner with leaders to foster a high performing, respectful workplace culture.
• Coach leaders on employee relations issues, performance, and policy application.
• Conduct investigations with objectivity and proper documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreement and contracts.
• Identify trends and recommend solutions to improve engagement and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate meetings, recognition programs, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Support lifecycle activities for hourly manufacturing staff including recruitment and onboarding.
• Maintain HR records, administer leaves, benefits, and payroll processes.
• Generate HR metrics and reports to support decision making.
