Job summary

Hascall Steel Company in Grandville, MI is seeking a hands-on HR Generalist to support 130 employees across Grandville, Canton, and Chicago locations. You will recruit, onboard, manage employee relations, and drive safety programs while partnering with leadership to ensure HR processes run smoothly.

This role reports to the Controller and works with the President. Responsibilities include full-cycle recruiting, benefits administration, performance management, and training, plus maintaining HR

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field (HRCI or SHRM certification a plus!)
• 3+ years of manufacturing HR experience
• Partner with leadership to manage employee lifecycle and ensure HR compliance with laws and regulations
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with discretion
• Adept with HRIS or payroll systems and Microsoft Suite

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to recruit and onboard talent, support employee relations, promote workplace safety, and ensure HR programs run smoothly.
• Own employee benefits administration, performance management, and training programs.
• Collaborate with the HR Coordinator on maintaining accurate employee records and back up payroll responsibilities.
• Champion workplace safety through training, OSHA recordkeeping, and workers' compensation administration.
• Provide HR guidance on policy questions and employee concerns.
• Foster an engaging candidate experience from recruiting through onboarding.
