Job summary

CMI Group is seeking an HR Coordinator for our Manufacturing Facility in Tempe, AZ. This full-time, on-site role supports recruitment, onboarding, employee records, and basic benefits administration to keep HR processes running smoothly on the floor.

You will serve as the site’s primary HR contact, manage orientation and interviews, conduct background checks, and ensure compliance with ITAR and employment laws while supporting performance reviews and engagement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 2–5 years of administrative experience; HR experience in manufacturing setting strongly preferred.
• Basic understanding of HR laws and regulations.
• Must be a U.S. Person per ITAR requirements (citizen or permanent resident).

Responsibilities

• Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition, retention and engagement programs.
• Administer onboarding and offboarding processes, including orientation and exit interviews.
• Screen applicants and schedule interviews.
• Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
• Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, under guidance of HR leadership.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practice; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the HR Director.
• Assist with coordination of performance review cycles and employee engagement programs.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including ITAR and other compliance regulations.
