Job summary

Thorlabs in Newton, NJ is seeking a Production Associate to support our manufacturing team and learn essential fabrication tasks.

No prior experience is required as on-the-job training will be provided; responsibilities include handling parts, operating basic equipment, and keeping accurate records.

You will work safely in a fast-paced environment, contribute to quality, and follow company policies to ensure efficient production.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and comply with high quality standards.

• Strong ability to shift from one task to another to address changing production priorities.
• Basic mathematic knowledge.
• Proficient in basic computer skills such as Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist workers engaged in fabricating and processing materials and parts.
• Sort and count parts and materials.
• Examine parts and materials for defects.
• Feed, load, or remove parts from machines.
• Handle and clean specialty fiber optics, precision optics, and mechanical components.
• Must be able to understand written work instructions for a wide range of products to properly manufacture the final product to the highest of quality standards and with a goal of zero scrap or rework.
• Maintain proper records in our Manufacturing Database.
• Ask questions when instructions are not understood or clear.
• Comply with the company safety program and maintain a clean and organized work area.
