Thorlabs is hiring a General Helper to support CNC machinists in a fast-paced shop in Newton, NJ. The role emphasizes quality, initiative, and teamwork, with hours 5:45a.m. to 2:15p.m. Monday through Friday and a starting hourly rate of $18.00.

The position requires at least one year in a maintenance or manufacturing setting, a high school diploma, and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Training on PPE and safe chemical handling is provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a maintenance shop or manufacturing environment.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to follow safety rules and work under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and keep work areas clean and safe.
• Unload trucks, cut stock, and deliver material to machines.
• Operate manual equipment with guidance from setup crew.
• Run production parts on CNC machines and deburr.
• Tumble, polish, and bead blast machined parts.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain tidy areas.
