Job summary

Thorlabs is seeking an entry-level Manufacturing Associate to join a team producing precision optics and related components. The role includes kitting, loading/unloading machines, and manual machining with on-the-job training and no prior experience required.

The shift runs 3:00pm to 11:30pm, offering hands-on training and a strong emphasis on quality and safety. You will assist in fabricating materials, maintain records in the Manufacturing Database, and work with a team to meet high quality

Qualifications

• No experience required; training will be provided.
• Experience in manufacturing or hands-on work preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Assist workers engaged in fabricating and processing materials and parts.
• Sort and count parts and materials.
• Examine parts and materials for defects.
• Feed, load, or remove parts from machines.
• Handle and clean specialty fiber optics, precision optics, and mechanical components.
• Understand written work instructions for a wide range of products to properly manufacture the final product to the highest of quality standards and with a goal of zero scrap or rework.
• Maintain proper records in our Manufacturing Database.
• Ask questions when instructions are not understood or clear.
• Comply with the company safety program and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Meet company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed; follow policies and procedures.
