Job summary

Jefferson Wells, a division of ManpowerGroup, seeks a General Ledger Accountant to support month-end close, journal entries, and inventory costing in a manufacturing environment. The role emphasizes accuracy, intercompany activity, and internal controls.

This contract position in Ashburn, VA offers onsite work three days a week, with a strong emphasis on GAAP compliance and accurate reporting of production costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and inventory accounting.
• Proficient with Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close processes and ensure accuracy.
• Post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments per GAAP.
• Perform GL reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Handle intercompany transactions across entities.
• Support inventory accounting, COGS analysis, and cycle counts.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams on production costs and inventory.
• Assist audits with required documentation and support.
• Contribute to process improvements and internal controls.
