Job summary

Jefferson Wells, a division of ManpowerGroup, is seeking a General Ledger Accountant for a manufacturing-oriented role in Ashburn, VA. This contract position requires 3+ years of accounting experience, US GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel/ERP skills. Onsite 3 days per week, with weekly pay and benefits available.

You will manage close processes, post journal entries, perform reconciliations, and support audits while improving internal controls and intercompany reporting across multiple entities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end close processes with deadlines and accuracy.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments per GAAP.
• Perform reconciliations and resolve discrepancies timely.
• Handle intercompany transactions across entities.
• Support inventory accounting, COGS analysis, and cycle counts.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to report production costs and inventory levels.
• Assist audits by providing documentation and support.
• Contribute to process improvements and internal controls.
