Job summary

BD is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead a Columbus, NE production unit. The role focuses on safety, quality, and cost while driving daily performance and schedule adherence across shifts.

You will coach and develop associates, manage staffing/training plans, and partner with Production Planning to optimize flow and output. Strong communication, supervisory experience, and commitment to BD values are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• 3 years supervisory manufacturing experience required or equivalent.
• Experience leading on the production floor and coaching staff.
• Strong knowledge of safety, quality and process improvement.
• Ability to read, write and converse in English.

Responsibilities

• Promptly address safety issues or incidents.
• Spend a minimum of 75% of time on production floor leading associates.
• Staffing and training plans within the department.
• Provide regular, timely, and specific feedback to associates.
• Foster learning environment and raise performance expectations.
• Maintain open communication between production associates and management.
• Represent concerns of associates to management and vice versa.
• Ensure fair application of policies and practices.
• Collaborate with HR on employee relations when needed.
• Support continuous improvement activities.
• Coordinate with Production Planning to meet schedules and monitor performance.
• Track production metrics and report progress to leadership.
• Lead daily production operations.
• Other duties as required to support business needs.
