Job summary

LHH in Melville, NY is seeking a Controller to lead the organization’s accounting and financial operations, with a strong focus on manufacturing finance, inventory accounting, cost accounting, financial reporting, and operational performance. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a manufacturing environment, including hands-on responsibility for inventory accounting, standard and actual costing, variances, purchasing, COGS, and financial analysis.

ERP experience highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing environment with inventory accounting, standard and actual costing, variances, purchasing, COGS, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Direct all accounting and finance functions, including general accounting, cash management, banking, AR/AP, and financial reporting.
• Lead and mentor accounting and finance staff, promoting accuracy and continuous improvement.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements with journal entries, reconciliations, accruals and analyses.
• Oversee inventory accounting and valuation; ensure accurate records and reconciliation to GL.
• Monitor manufacturing costs (materials, labor, overhead) and variances; analyze cost drivers.
• Develop and maintain standard and actual costs; investigate significant variances.
• Partner with Operations, Production, Purchasing, Supply Chain and Warehouse to drive inventory accuracy and efficiency.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies, cycle counts, obsolete/slow-moving inventory, and adjustments.
