Job summary

Industrial Electric Manufacturing (IEM) in San Antonio is seeking a dependable Custodian to maintain the cleanliness of production areas, restrooms, offices and shared spaces in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This 100% in-office, on-site role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, adherence to safety guidelines, and the ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision. High school diploma or GED preferred; prior manufacturing cleaning experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Previous cleaning experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in production area, break rooms, restrooms, hallways and office spaces.
• Dust surfaces and wipe down furniture and fixtures.
• Empty trash bins and dispose of waste in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms; replenish supplies as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness in all common areas including break rooms, conference rooms, and entryways.
• Ensure cleaning supplies are stocked and properly maintained.
• Complete janitor checklists at the end of each shift.
• Notify maintenance manager when repairs or maintenance are required.
• Clean and sanitize refrigerators weekly.
• Handle cleaning chemicals according to safety guidelines.
• Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including window washing, dusting, and surface cleaning.
• Maintain supply order lists and submit them to the buyer for replenishment.
• Flexible and adaptable team player with startup mindset; willing to help wherever needed.
