Job summary

Industrial Electric Manufacturing (IEM) is seeking a Facilities Technician for our San Antonio, TX campus. The role is 100% in-office with no remote work, reporting to the VP of Facilities and Workplace.

The technician will support three buildings, perform PMs, and handle diverse maintenance tasks to keep production running smoothly. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of facilities maintenance experience, and familiarity with electrical/HVAC/plumbing systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; technical/trade certification in a facilities-related trade is preferred.
• 2+ years of hands-on facilities maintenance experience in manufacturing, industrial, or multi-building environments.
• Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems; able to safely use hand/power tools.
• Familiarity with CMMS/work order systems; comfortable documenting work electronically.
• Understanding of LOTO and general industrial safety practices (OSHA 10/30 a plus).
• Ability to read basic blueprints and equipment manuals is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, doors/dock equipment, life-safety).
• Diagnose and repair issues across three buildings; escalate complex repairs as needed.
• Respond to work orders and trouble calls via CMMS; prioritize safety-critical issues.
• Support production continuity by minimizing downtime through timely repairs.
• Perform general building repairs (drywall, painting, flooring, door hardware).
• Maintain electrical distribution components at a basic level and assist licensed electricians as needed.
• Inspect and maintain dock doors, levelers, and material handling interfaces.
• Conduct facility walk-throughs to identify safety hazards and maintenance needs.
• Assist with workspace setup/teardown and event layouts; manage inventory in CMMS.
• Coordinate with vendors on-site for specialized repairs; respond to after-hours emergencies.
