Job summary

IEM in San Antonio, TX seeks a Facilities Technician to maintain three building campuses, including PMs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems; this role is 100% in-office with on-site support across multiple buildings.

You will respond to work orders, coordinate with vendors, document in CMMS, and participate in on-call rotation. A high school diploma and 2+ years in facilities or industrial maintenance are required; a technical certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade certification in a facilities-related trade preferred.
• 2+ years of hands-on facilities maintenance experience in manufacturing or multi-building environments.
• Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems with safe tool use.
• Familiarity with CMMS/work order systems and electronic documentation.
• Understanding of LOTO and general industrial safety practices (OSHA 10/30 a plus).
• Ability to read basic blueprints and equipment manuals is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting and independent work capability.
• Flexibility to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts with on-call rotation.
• Valid driver’s license for campus travel between buildings, if applicable.
• Strong communication and professional interaction with staff and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, doors, and life-safety systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues; escalate to Sr Facilities Manager when needed.
• Respond to work orders via CMMS and prioritize safety-critical and production-impacting issues.
• Support production continuity by minimizing downtime and identifying equipment issues.
• Maintain basic electrical distribution components and assist licensed electricians on higher-voltage work.
• Inspect dock doors, levelers, overhead doors, and material handling interfaces.
• Conduct facility walk-throughs to identify hazards and maintenance needs.
• Coordinate with vendors for on-site repairs and provide on-call coverage as required.
