Job summary

IEM seeks a Facilities Technician in San Antonio, TX to maintain and repair building systems across three sites. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school cert preferred.
• 2+ years in facilities maintenance in manufacturing or multi-building environments.
• Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems; use of hand/power tools.
• Familiar with CMMS/work orders and documenting work electronically.
• LOTO, confined space awareness, OSHA 10/30 a plus.
• Able to read basic blueprints and equipment manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting, with ability to work independently.
• Willing to work 1st-3rd shifts and on-call/weekends as needed.
• Valid driver’s license for campus travel; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems per PM schedules.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing issues across three buildings.
• Respond to work orders via CMMS and escalate as needed.
• Support production by minimizing downtime through timely repairs.
• Do general building repairs including drywall, painting, flooring, doors.
• Maintain electrical distribution to a basic level and assist licensed electricians as needed.
• Inspect dock doors and material handling interfaces; conduct safety walk-throughs.
• Assist with workspace setup, reconfiguration, and events per direction.
• Maintain maintenance logs and CMMS records; track parts usage.
• Coordinate with vendors on-site for specialized repairs; handle after-hours emergencies.
